AVA: Columbia Valley

Notes: Brilliant ruby. Silky fore-palate; firm but fine mid-palate tannins. Bright and juicy. Blue- and blackberry, baking spice, violets, cardamom, and a light caramel undertone.
Review: 90 points, Wine Advocate, October 2009: "It sports an enticing nose of spice box (cinnamon, clove, sage), incense, black currant, and blackberry. Layered and intense on the palate, it has excellent grip, nicely concealed tannin, and well-integrated oak. On the palate, spice notes and black fruits lead to a lengthy, pure finish. Drink this tasty effort from 2011 to 2018."

Reviews:

92+ points, Wine Advocate, October 2009: "Earth and mineral notes are accompanied by cinnamon, clove, sage, black cherry, and black currant. Medium to full-bodied, it exhibits an elegant personality, excellent intensity, plenty of sweet fruit, and a lengthy finish. Give it 2-3 years of additional cellaring and drink it from 2012 to 2022."

92 points—Best Buy, Year's Best Cabernet & Blends, Wine & Spirits, December 2010: "Focused, steely and firm, this blend of franc, merlot and cabernet sauvignon bears the vinous scent of old-vine bark and black pepper, with deep flavors of black plum and a textural density that suggests a long life."

AVA: Yakima Valley

Review: 91 points, Wine Advocate, October 2009: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (100%) is a saturated purple color with an attractive aromatic array of wood smoke, spice box, violets, pencil lead, and black currant. This is followed by a mouth-filling, savory, intense wine with enough ripe tannin to evolve for another 2-3 years. This lengthy, pure effort will be at its best from 2012 to 2022."
