2009 Red Willow

2009 Red Willow Vineyard - Yakima Valley

Complex and alluring, this dark-toned blend intimates 'old-world' qualities embodied in the ancient soils of this storied vineyard.

2009 Red Willow Wine: Red Willow Vineyard Red Blend
Blend: 64% merlot, 21% cabernet sauvignon, 15% cabernet franc
Vineyard: Red Willow
AVA: Yakima Valley
Aging: 18 months in French oak, 35% new
Bottled: April 20, 2011
Production: 338 cases
Notes: Ruby red with alluring clarity. Dark-toned aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant, anise, stony earth, spice, and hints of cedar. Medium-weight with slightly chewy tannins that will integrate with time. Somewhat tight in its youth, this blend suggests deep black, subtly herb-infused fruit with notes of dark chocolate, caramel, cassis, lavender, sandalwood and mineral. Will benefit from 2 to 3 years of additional cellaring.
