2009 Boushey

2009 Boushey Vineyard - Yakima Valley

Alluring, entrancing aromas of flowers, herbs, baking spice and more, this mouth filling blend defines vinous beauty.

2009 Boushey Wine: Boushey Vineyard Red Blend
Blend: 39% cabernet franc, 34% merlot, 27% cabernet sauvignon
Vineyard: Bouhsey
AVA: Yakima Valley
Aging: 18 months in French oak, 39% new
Bottled: April 23, 2011
Production: 350 cases
Notes: Dark ruby in color. Floral, herb, and earthy aromas seem to leap out of the glass. Classic Boushey with complex and alluring aromas of violet, lavender, sage, boysenberry, cardamom, baking spice, balsamic, fresh herbs, dried flowers, and hints of wet stone. Fresh on the palate with nicely integrated acidity and moderately dusty tannins that will fold in with time. Quietly unctuous with luscious flavors of blackcurrant, marion berry, plum, violet, lavender, and subtle notes of toast and walnut lingering on the finish. Will benefit from a couple years of additional cellaring.
Review: 91 points, Wine Advocate, October 2011: "Herbs, spices, floral notes, cassis, and black currant aromas compose the bouquet of this smooth-textured, succulent, layered offering. Impeccably balanced and lengthy, it is likely to evolve for 1-2 years and offer prime drinking from 2013 to 2024."
