Vintage 2008 wines mark a bend in the trail with Fall Line going all Yakima Valley—Washington State's first AVA (federally designated American Viticultural Area). The single-vineyard blends span the entire valley, with Artz representing the eastern boundary, Red Willow the western boundary, and Boushey the center of the valley.
With Vintage 2008 having ushered in the all Yakima Valley program, Vintage 2009 brings the excitement of an entirely new addition to the line-up: Tempranillo from Boushey Vineyard!
Early on, the 2008s are showing characteristic elegance, ample volume and roundness on the palate, and layers and layers of gorgeous aromas. A tad more firmly structured than the 2008s, the 2009s are somewhat bashful in their youth, generally showing expressive, alluring aromas but moderately restrained flavors. Look for these wines to open up nicely in the next two to three years.
